Deejay Dang - Azteca (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Deejay Dang - Azteca (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Hey guys!

This one comes from  local here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!  All I can really tell you is, holy CRAP!

I really wish Eric Dang would have sent me this sooner.  Why?  Because this song is just so unbelievable it will have you thirsty for another shot right in the face!

This is some dark, deep, and awesome emotional hitting trance.  If you wanna play with a girls emotions, play this track to her.

I would strongly recommend hitting this up!  Please if you like it, go to his soundcloud and tell him he did an awesome job!

Word Of Advice!

Hey guys and girls!

This blog is mainly just my thoughts on songs I like to play live at my gigs, but today something has came-up that I MUST share with you.

Everyone knows that the music industry is very cut-throat, meaning that you have to FIGHT your way through the battlefield in order to get what you want...in the nicest way possible.

The reason why I am bringing this up is because you the DJ/Producer/Promoter/Club Owner/ etc are not going anywhere unless you make friends.  The moment you start complaining that you got screwed over, that someone lied to you, or that the other DJ's/producers/etc are shit  is the moment that you start going downhill.  You will suffer without making friends in this industry.  Even if you know that these people do indeed "suck" that gives you no right to say that they do.  Holding a grudge against a certain group, artist, or promoter will only suck the life out of you and keep you from achieving your goal.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE FRIENDS.  I'm telling you this from experience!!!!!!  You have to meet and greet everyone with respect, even the ones that you dislike, or the ones that have lied and cheated to you.  You have to be nice, you have to be humble, but you also have to stand your ground.

Every time you open your mouth you are selling yourself.

So let me ask you, what are you selling?  Respect or disrespect?

If you want to succeed in this industry then please for your own dignity and proper conscious treat everyone nicely and be humble and keep the complaining to yourself.

I was told that the people that have succeeded the most networked the most.  So network in a friendly manner.  And complain only about yourself, for you are the creator of your own world, not anyone else.

/end rant.

][conic - Disappear (Original Mix)

Hi!

So if you are reading this blog chances are you are a friend of mine and have heard this, but I'm posting this in the odd chance that you are a stranger!

This is my first track that I have released onto Beatport through Dream Crusher Media.  All I can say is it took me a little more then a year to get a track finally signed.  Persistence does pay off!  Work your ass off at doing what you love and you will reap the rewards!  Also helps to write down your goals every single day, it keeps you focused on achieving what you want out of life!

I hope you guys enjoy my track!

Oh and P.S. It was charted on Top Ten Must Hear Electro House Tracks - Week 35 and Summer Secret Weapons: Electro! :P

Suicide Silence - Slave To Substance (Big Chocolate Remix)

Suicide Silence - Slave To Substance (Big Chocolate Remix)

Hey!  I haven't done a post in a long time...decided to do some justice and come back with a giant head turner for a post!

This is Big Chocolate.  In case you haven't heard of him here's the short story.  He is a one man death metal / grindcore band called Disfiguring The Goddess, and he is also a one man bass driven / heavy electro / dubstep producer called Big Chocolate.

This song is fucking intense because it blends both dubstep / bass / crazy noises with grinding guitars and brutal vocals.  Of course that is the case because it is a remix of a Suicide Silence song.

If you want something that shakes your speakers, rattles your ears, and rips the shorts off your legs then click play and submit to the phenomenon that is big chocolate.

Justice - New Lands (A-Trak Remix)

Well this song has been on my playlist for a number of days now, and that's because it is so fucking good!

The original definitely holds up it's name and Justice delivers, but A-trak remixing this tune just makes it ten time better!

If you want a song that feels like you are about to get fucked up then look no further! This one will make you want to get a few shots, pop some pills, and kiss your dog if you're lucky!

This makes me dance, jump in the air, and frolick around like a child with no restraints whatsoever.

Get it. Now.

Metallica - Wherever I May Roam (Pro7 remix)

Old school metal meets dubstep and electro.

What could go wrong?

Actually nothing to be exact!  Unless of course you are some kind of metal elitist freak with satan's blood flowing through them that thinks there is no other kind of music other then metal, then yeah sure.  Everything is wrong.

Truth be told this is actually quite pleasing to the ears, I just personally would have rather had more vocals in it as it does seem a little bland in some areas.

I would probably save this one for your own listening pleasure rather then playing it live, but hey it might just make those ex metal lovers (including myself) thrash like a bulldozer caught on a strip of concrete and trying to wiggle it's way out.

That sounded dirty.

NERVO - You're Gonna Love Again (Erotique Remix)

NERVO - You're Gonna Love Again (Erotique Remix)

Hey guys!

So I made a slight mess up yesterday and forgot to post a track...wow.

I heard this song right after I came home from watching The Bourne Legacy (great movie).  This tune is produced very well, as we have all come to expect from Erotique and Nervo.

The progressive house melody really engages you to listen to the vocals.  It mirrors it perfectly in such a fantastic and positive way.

This is most definitely a chick song, and by that I mean this:  Let's say you just started out your set and everything is going fine, then some people start leaving to get drinks and they don't come back, they just sit at the bar.  Well that's because you are playing tracks that are way too hard, and there is no woman on the dance-floor!  If you wanna get the girls to dance, strategically place this song in your set.

Guaranteed booty shaking all song long!

Ashley Wallbridge - Vision (Original Mix)

I'm actually in a wicked awesome mood today so you guys get two music posts!

First and foremost, this is a trance track. It has such an old school 70's or even 80's vibe to it that I could probably show it to my mom and she wouldn't know the difference!

A friend of mine actually sent it my way. And I'll quote him directly, "it screams festival, outdoors, sunshine, love, hugs, everything that fetival is to me, is in that track." - DJ Essential

Listening to this song gives me the chills and raises the hair on the back of my neck up like a cold wintery day.  But then again, shouldn't good music make your body hair do that on any given day?

Drone - Cycles [Version 1]

Drone - Cycles [Version 1]

I was sent this by drone a short while ago and let me tell you this tune goes hand in hand with the weather we are currently experiencing here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  It's raining like you wouldn't believe so listening to nice relaxing "send you on a trip" music was definitely in order.

I'm writing as I listen to this, and the first thoughts that come to mind are 2 things:

1.  It kind of sounds like a video-game, but then again it also sounds like you are venturing through a jungle in search of a rare artefact in a mayan ruin.

2.  If you close your mind for a minute you can picture a fire and wood land creatures dancing around it.  No I'm not on drugs, I just have an imaginative mind!

I would strongly recommend this to those that are having (or planning) to have a relaxing day.  This is one of those tunes that you listen to when you want to think deep about life and just want to get away from society.  I would like to call this Intelligent Electronic Music.

It will take you on a journey.  I swear by it.

S.U.C.K - Odin ( Free Download )

S.U.C.K - Odin ( Free Download )

First thing I do when I get up in the morning is make my bed and then proceed to brush my teeth and wash my face.  Let me just say that I decided to break this habit this morning and play a song at random on soundcloud, and oh boy boy breaking that habit felt good!

This tune is magnificently put together.  It really has a thundering echo of a massive orchestra telling you a tale of ethereal / fantasy worlds with an invasion of alien's invading and murdering all those little elves and goblins on their homeworld.

Quite fantastic to listen to.  I do see it being a little difficult to mix into a live set, but if you are a creative DJ then you will surely be able to figure out how to do it.

Go listen to it now!

Hard School - Fly Over The Sky (Taylor Thomas Remix)

Hard School - Fly Over The Sky (Taylor Thomas Remix)

I was definitely on the run today or else I would have posted this sooner, so sorry in advance!

All I can tell you, is that this song is quite wonderful!  Has that progressive house melody / groove in it that gets all the boys and girls ready to get their freak on only to have their plans of freaking out to top 40 dance mangled by a dissonant, slightly sounding evil bassline that makes you feel like you should be rolling rather than driving down the freeway at 120.

Seriously though, this track is worth the buy, I'm all for underground artist's and music that people have never heard.  Why?  Because sometimes you get jems like this that truly let you know that you should be looking outside the beatport top 100 and finding music on your own.  Plus it makes your sets much more exciting!

Soulfix feat. Jay Jacob - In The Air *Atomic Zoo* - Coming Soon -

Soulfix feat. Jay Jacob - In The Air *Atomic Zoo* - Coming Soon -

Hey guys!

This tune is by a Canadian DJ / Dance Producer who goes by the name of Soulfix.  Let me just tell you one thing about soulfix and one thing only:  Holy fucking shit balls batman.  Lots of ethereal themes and space textures are prevalent in his music, some of the songs really hit home just like a raven crashing into your window while you are enjoying a nice hot cup of green tea and reading a vegan magazine your mom always buys but never looks at.

There is a plenty of robotic noises to keep you happy, but at the same time there is melody to keep you up with wonder.  Must be because it is a "bootleg" of Phil Collin's "In The Air".

How Soulfix got the rights to do this is pretty amazing.  I really enjoyed it, and I hope you do as well.

Dead C∆T Bounce - Moulin Rouge (Original Mix)

Dead C∆T Bounce - Moulin Rouge (Original Mix)

Alright ladies and gents!  This is another great one hand selected from my own personal garden of eden.  If you want something original to give to the crowd if they look a bit bored on the dancefloor, or if you yourself are having one of those days where you can't find something worth listening too, then look no further!

This has so many elements in place that everytime you listen to it you hear something new!  Dead C∆T Bounce always makes some crazy music.  I would someday love to learn their production tricks!

MEATBALL!

Holy kick in the nuts is this song ever a riot! It gives anyone who listens to it such a rush that they will most likely be on the floor...head-first into the pavement.

Definite listen for those who like things heavy!

Wednesday 8 August 2012

This is most definitely supposed to be a daily post for songs I have, but I gotta do two!  DJ Marty Madsen & his producing partner Chris Moreira have just released this song today under the alias Cevy Chamaro on Ventuno Recordings!

I've had the pleasure of playing this track for a while now and all I can say is wow!  This is really quite the remix!  The piano gives you a nice sense of excitement because it sounds like it should be in the batman trilogy!  Movie music is where it's at!  And it doesn't hurt that it gets a crowd moving as well!

You can get it here:
Everton Gontijo - Your Mind (Cevy Chamaro Remix)
This song is wild!

It's another mash-up that has been playing on my speakers (and CDJ's) for a small amount of time! Everything just mixes and mashes in such uniform fashion that it hardly feels like a mash-up and more like a sophisticated original with just enough play in every section to keep your breath held because you are so excited to hear the next part! This one will not only please the crowd, but it will please your mother, your grandmother, your father, your sister, and maybe even your dog. And by pleasing them, I mean completely blowing their ears out and having them scream at you to shut if off because they can't stand (or understand) this wonderfully grinding beat!

It's way too awesome!

Tuesday 7 August 2012

Hey there!

I was going through my music library today and stumbled upon (pun intended, that website is great!) this gem!  It's one of the best mash-ups I've heard!  It usually finds a way into my live mixes at one point or another.  If you want a song that has skrillex, dada life, and dirtyloud then look no further!  Seriously!  It is well put together and will make any crowd move!  Even the one girl you've had your eyes on the entire time while you were mixing...hehe.

Icons Of EDM.

Monday 6 August 2012

Hey guys!

Welcome to my blog!  It's sort of up and running, gonna do some html coding to get it looking just right!

A little about myself first:
I'm 22 years young, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I used to play drums and guitar in several death metal and grindcore bands (most notably is drums in Display Of Decay) before I started DJ'ing.  I have been producing EDM for a little over a year, and am enjoying every single thing about it!  My DJ / Producer name is ][conic (][conic's Soundcloud Page)

I'll be posting all kinds of stuff such as new (and old) music that goes slightly under the radar and I'll be posting up mixes of mine (dirty electro, trance, and dubstep) as well as originals and remixes / bootlegs!

So let's make a tasteful entry into the first post of ][conic - Icon's of EDM!

This one is from AC Slater.  I heard it originally in a mix by DJalucard (http://www.house-mixes.com/profile/djalucard-ronin).  "Little Chronic" most definitely gets a dancefloor shaking like no tomorrow!  It's especially hard hitting for all the stoners in the building as well.  Quite Fitting to say the least.  Enjoy!
